In my opinion, while solidifying her sober-ness is valid and everything, I just don’t see Regina as a legitimate parent to Daphne or Bay anymore. Regina came back from rehab and stayed with Angelo for the summer in order to get away from the Kennish-craziness and heal. The dynamics between the families also change. They innocently dated a couple of times before Mary Beth kissed him, but it’s yet to be official that they’re together, together… you know… if ya feel me. Mary Beth and Travis are kinda, sorta a thing. Especially with the scene of Koto in his office, staring at his phone blowing up with reporters in response to Daphne’s post. So yeah, Koto can sue them, and potentially send them to jail, but he won’t be getting away with his slimy agendas. Daphne and Jace break up, and Daphne posts on his blog, telling the truth about what they did that summer. Koto plans to sue Daphne and Jace for invasion of his privacy.
Eventually, Koto catches on to Daphne and Jace and blackmails them back, until John finds out about it. Jace constantly wants to push the envelope farther, while Daphne just wants to end it after they get what they want. This spins out of control, especially with Jace being a political scandal blogger. She practically spends all summer handing out informational fliers to people urging them to vote down this act.īut Jace and Daphne decide to anonymously blackmail Koto into voting down the bill. Daphne totally opposes this, saying that kids are going to have sex anyway, and that will lead to STDs and pregnancy. He is the swing vote in a support safe-sex act on the floor of the Senate, which would make abstinence the only way the Senate stands on safe-sex. Simultaneously, the other Senator with John Kennish, is Senator Koto, a sleazy jerk that hits on Katherine Kennish, sleeps around with interns, and just acts like an all-around dirt-bag. Unfortunately, Ty leads Bay to believe that he slept with someone else, so that if he dies, she won’t have to grieve over him as a lost love. Bay desperately tries to keep him here with her connections to the Senate, but Ty does end up leaving.
It also raises the stakes for them, as Ty eventually gets word that he’s going back overseas. It all builds up to Bay giving up her v-card to Ty, which amps up their relationship. He’s living on the base in Kansas City, and as you can imagine, he and Bay fall back into their romance. Here Bay meets new people, such as Mary Beth, who we later learn has a brother who was a soldier and committed suicide when he came back from Iraq.īrace yourselves for the blast-from-the-past: Ty is back from Iraq too. The relationship started out slow and sweetly, when Jace takes Daphne geocaching, where Daphne states that she wants to have fun this summer, which initiates the spark to their summer fling.īay, who is adamant about not working with her dad, gets her summer job in Maui, Kansas, a summer-long carnival business. There, she met Jace, the charming, British boy who worked at the coffee cart, and who picked up signing in order to speak to Daphne.
The premiere was all hopeful for what the summer would hold, full of summer job opportunities, and both new and rekindled romantic plotlines.ĭaphne worked at the political offices, interning for her father, who was just elected to the Senate for Kansas. This summer, the season followed the Kennish’s and the Vazquez’s through the summer before Bay and Daphne’s senior year.
The first on my list is Switched at Birth, season 2. Since my summer has been so hectic, I haven’t been able to watch television as it’s relevant and news-worthy, so I’ve just decided that until I get back to school, I’ll cover the show’s that I watched this summer in seasons.
